Dave Ellis's Martin 0000-28H
|
|
I bought this Martin 0000-28H new in Oct 1997 from Hanks in Denmark St, London. It was my main guitar for playing in folk clubs for about 5 years after which I had my first guitar (a 1968 Gibson J45... also bought new!) fitted with a fixed bridge and electronics. The Gibson remains my gigging guitar of choice and the Martin has only been used on recordings occasionally over the last few years.
Apart from one or two marks in the varnish it's in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures. It has been well maintained and the setup is fantastic. There is virtually no wear on the frets and it is fitted with a Fishman active internal pickup. A Martin hard case is included. Follow this YouTube link to me playing an instrumental on this guitar.
Here comes the AI!...
This 1997 Martin 0000-28H is part of a highly sought-after limited run of 256 guitars produced between 1997 and 2002. This model showcases Martin’s exceptional craftsmanship and timeless tone, making it a prized addition for collectors and discerning players alike.
Featuring the comfortable and versatile 0000 Grand Auditorium body shape, this guitar delivers a beautifully balanced soundrich and warm with clear articulation. The solid Sitka spruce top combined with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides produces a vibrant tone that excels across fingerstyle, strumming, and recording applications.
The gloss nitrocellulose finish and herringbone trim (indicated by the “H” in the model name) add a classic vintage aesthetic. The guitar includes premium features such as scalloped X-bracing, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, and a 25.4-inch scale length with a 1 11/16-inch nut width for comfortable playability.
Here are a few photos, but you'll probably see more detail either on my ad on Reverb or my ad on ebay. However don't take any notice of the price on these ads. They are more expensive to cover the cost of the advertising charges.
I'll give you a much better price if you buy from me directly by calling 07747 104439 or emailing me at dave@daveandboo.com
Come and try it out before committing yourself to buying the guitar. You need to feel it's the one for you! I'm in North London at N89PG and my price selling privately would be about £3250.
